Whole Foods recalls frozen yellow fin tuna steaks

Whole Foods Market has announced a recall of frozen yellow fin tuna steaks that may contain high levels of histamine, a biological agent.

The affected tuna steaks all have best-by dates of December 5, 2010, and have been sold in stores in 28 states, including New Jersey. Elevated levels of histamine can cause a severe allergic reaction known as scombroid poisoning, which may result in a burning sensation in the mouth, itchy skin, rash, hives, facial swelling, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. So far, two incidents of the sickness have been reported.
