Mini motor bikes and go-carts recalled due to fire hazard

Baja Motorsports Mini Bikes and Go-Carts and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have announced the voluntary recall of their mini bikes and go-carts due to a fire or burn hazard.

The fire can occur when the gas cap leaks or detaches from the fuel tank on the recalled vehicles. There is also a sudden acceleration risk because where the fuel line and cable throttle are positioned.

There have been 9 reports of the fuel cap coming off or leaking and in one case, the defect caused a serious fire that injured a child. There has been 25 reports of the throttles getting stuck and causing injury to the face and other body parts.
