Nutmeg recalled due to salmonella contamination

Posted on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 at 1:42 pm

Frontier Natural Products Co-op has issued a voluntary recall of nutmeg products after it was found that they may possibly be contaminated by salmonella.

The two products contain non-organic nutmeg and include the 16 oz Frontier Bulk Nutmeg Ground and the Whole Foods 365 Nutmeg Ground.

The nutmeg is supplied from Mincing Overseas Spice Company, a New Jersey based company that also issued their own recall. Earlier thisĀ  year, the same company recalled black pepper for salmonella contamination.
