TV anchor woman bitten by dog on air

Posted on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 8:18 pm

A Denver news anchor was bitten on the face during a segment praising a local firefighter who saved a dog stranded in a frozen lake.

The firefighter, the dog’s owner, and the dog, an Argentine mastiff, were featured on the segment when things went wrong. The anchor woman is seen petting the dog, which was sitting calmly on the set, throughout the taping. It was when she knelled down to get closer that the dog bit her in the face.

She was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent reconstructive surgery that night. Surgeons say the surgery was successful. The dog has been taken by animal control and will be quarantined for ten days. The dog’s owner was cited for violating a leash law and not having its vaccinations up to date.
